Sepolia Testnet
The Sepolia testnet is deployed and active, but it is still in an early stage and not yet considered production-ready, stable, or reliable. For this reason, we currently do not recommend it for most developers, and it is not fully supported in the official releases of SP1.
At this stage, we are focused on bootstrapping network demand by manually requesting proofs through the network. Over the coming month, a key priority will be improving the reliability and robustness of the Sepolia testnet to make it suitable for broader developer use.
The Sepolia testnet introduces several major upgrades as part of the decentralization of the Succinct Prover Network:
- Support for $PROVE, the native token used for payments and staking.
- A permissionless prover market, allowing anyone to stake and participate as a prover.
- A more scalable, open system with increased supply and reduced costs for proof generation.
If you'd like to experiment with the Sepolia testnet:
- You can deposit $PROVE directly to the
SuccinctVApp
contract here with thedeposit
function. - Use the
ernesto/sdk-v5-network-v3
branch of SP1 to request proofs on the Sepolia network.
